Project CAMBODIA

Despite the setbacks faced in Cambodia by the Khmer Rouge, Cambodia is one of the fastest-growing economies in South East Asia.

Cambodia doesn’t lack water; there’s plenty, but it’s extremely contaminated with High traces of E.coli. our goal is to research and implement clean water solutions to filter out these harmful contaminants from the water making it safe to drink.

We partnered with Water for Cambodia (WFC) because water contamination is a huge issue in Cambodia. WFC has been tackling this issue since 2006 and serving more than 144,000 people. Educating villages on the importance of safe water. Together, we are tackling Cambodia’s Water Crisis.

Soin Pouhech (31) & her son Nobe Manate

Soin lives in a rural area on the outskirts of Siem Reap, Cambodia. When her family moved there, the nearby lake was their only source of water. About 5 years ago, a local NGO came and dug a well for her family. Unfortunately, the water is extremely contaminated with high traces of amounts of E. Coli. Most of Cambodia has access to water but it’s not safe to drink.

The PH8 Foundation & Water for Cambodia provided BioSand filters to her family and other community members from the donations received by you. We also educated the community on the importance of clean and safe drinking water for our health. For the first time, Soin’s family was able to able to drink safe water without boiling it.

She said, “the biggest impact clean water has had for me is the peace of mind that my family is safe. I no longer have to worry and deal with the health issues that come with contaminated water.”
